So cold and flu season is upon us again and we remind all parents to keep contagious bugs contained. Coughs, colds, flu's and sore throats and even conjunctivitis can be spread easily around the home, school and yes even your martial arts Club.
With this in mind we ask all parents to be diligent in keeping sick children away from other students until they are no longer contagious, this will help keep the bugs at bay and our little ones feeling better faster.

Well done Adam Metcalf and Brett Grasso for putting on a great BJJ comp at the Defensive Arts Academy at Bellvue yesterday. The comp had a great atmosphere and everybody had a lot of fun, can't wait for the next one! A big thanks to Lance Johnson from DAA for hosting the event and good luck with your new school, your matts are awesome.
Sam Moland fought really well against a senior opponant who out-weighed him by nearly 10 kilos. Sam was leading 4 / nil for 4 minutes and 55 seconds and was beaten in the closing seconds by a guard pass and top mount. Not bad for 66kg and only a few lessons hey Sammo! Look out BJJ world!
Colin Luthwood placed 3rd in his division winning his first fight after a split decision and just loosing his second to a four stripe and loved every minute of it.
BJJ is a fast growing sport and after seeing the fights on the weekend its no surprise that so many martial arts schools around the world are jumping on the band wagon.
JMA is proud to present Michael Waite Knife defence course to be held on the Sunday the 20th June 10am sharp!
This will be free for JMA students so come along and learn from the best.

About Fabio Andrade
I started training my Jiu Jitsu in Brazil at the age 8 years with the Master Ralph Gracie. After about 6 years I was graded up to Blue Belt. After Master Ralph moved to the USA I began training under Master Royler Gracie and in about 4 years became a Purple Belt 4 degrees. As a Purple Belt I decided to teach and live Jiu Jitsu and to supplement my knowledge I was studying at the Gama Filho University in physical education. It was there that I met the teachers and Master Julio Cesar Pereira and Professor Marcus Bello who were creating the UGF team, today known as the GFTeam one of the largest teams of Jiu Jitsu in the world.
It was with the GFTeam that I won and received from the Masters Julio Cesar and Marcus Bello the long awaited Black Belt in 1999. After receiving my Black Belt I travelled teaching Jiu Jitsu in Boston, USA until 2001, later returning home to Brazil to continue my education in Jiu Jitsu. Now with much knowledge under my belt in 2009 I decided to move to Australia to teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Perth.
