Dr Magda Lipnika currently training in our kickboxing program gives JMA some advice on spinal care for Chiropractic Care Week.....
Keeping fit and active is an important aspect of a healthy life. Regular exercise will markedly reduce your risk of heart disease as well as improve balance, coordination and flexibility (1). With any sport there is always risk of an injury however keeping your body in top condition will minimise the possibility. Your spine is a key aspect in your health as it is directly linked to your nervous system. Dysfunction in your spine may result in muscle weakness and loss of flexibility, contributing to injuries and affecting your overall health.
As a chiropractor my job is to restore correct spinal function and allow your nervous system to be performing at its best.
Remember prevention is key when it comes to maintaining optimum health. This is the reason why it’s important we monitor your child’s spine and posture as they grow in order to prevent future problems.

Joondalup Martial Arts would like to send out a big thank you to Adam Metcalf from the Academy of Mixed Martial Arts in Mirrabooka. The December BJJ seminar was fantastic and a great time was had by all. View the photos in our online photo gallery
It was great to see Adam in action. In my opinion the Academy of Mixed Martial Arts is one of the best training centres around. Well done AMMA!
We are looking forward to the next seminar in February!
We've known it for a long time but new research has shown that parental actions influence the activity levels of children!
Research from the University of South Australia revealed that children who perceive both parents to be active reported the highest sports participation, while those with neither parent active reported the lowest sports participation. A further study from Deakin University showed a mother's own physical activity levels appear to influence her promotion of physically active play.
So mum's and dad's come on down and try out either our Box and Burn program or Freestyle Kick Boxing and teach your children the benefits of physical activity while improving your own fitness at the same time!
